Guest
I belive to have purchaced a 1915stutz chassis. It is 118" wheelbase wooden spoke wheels, somekind of a recoil shock system, and the front of the diff is open where the pinion should be. This car has been like a fabled ledgend for many years. I think i hav stumbled upon most of it If only i had clue what i am looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
null

Guest
Your Stutz find seems to be a 1923 model 690, pics sure do help. All 4 cylinder cars used the notorious aluminum transaxle rather than the conventional rear axle shown. I believe the next year ( model 692) started front wheel brakes. Guest
Any clue how the frame ended up on a railroad car? Can you tell us more about this unique find?
Peter
Guest
This chassis was found 2miles from my home, behind where an old barn used to be. I put the chassis on the railcar, too many people eyeballing STUTZ centre caps. thanks for the info thus i have found the rest of the car (body) 1 mile in the opposite direction. This has led me to beleive I now have my great grandfathers first new car..
