Awesome work. What is that part for?

thank you ;)

this piece is the "trimmer", this piece is attached to the rear of the frame and is connected to an arm of the rear axle.
this piece and connected to a compressor located at the front of the car by a small pipe.
the trimmer serves to inflate the rear shock absorber if the car is overloaded or if the car is pulling a caravan.
it serves to keep the car horizontal and to have the same press on the road :)

Thanks for the reply.   Air ride. I have never seen an air ride suspension.

it's original from 1969, it was going up in factories when the car was created ;)

hello, here are some news from the buick :)
now that the trimmer is finished, I take care of his " rod " .
After some research I saw that it was not easy to find his rods "ball joint " .
So I went to a parts shop and car product and after some research in the shop he found something that could be good. It is "ball joint "  engine motorcycle (50cc).
so I change it is two " ball joint " to be able to put on my rod .

as can be seen, the top part of the silent block is metalic.
to avoid that with time this part rust is damaged the bodywork, I cut into an old car air chamber "soles".
Like that everything is protected.

then I took care of the tank.
Before reassembling it, I checked the inside of the tank to see if it was clean or not.
and everything is in very good condition, it has no rust or deposit :)
