Who remembers these toy vehicles?
These are just some of this type I still have!

Do you have any of the drawings you did as a kid?
This is most of the group of free-hand drawings of modes-of-transportation (with a mansion house) I did during 3 months, early-mid 1982!

When is the last time you saw this generation of Pontiac Grand Am!?

On an even more personal note, I had my regular cardiology checkup this past Thursday, 05/05/2016, in Chicago.  While both valves (pulmonary-pig, aortic-cow) seem to be fine per preliminary results (my cardiologist will read the echocardiogram more thoroughly), the CT scan revealed a SPECK on 1 of my lungs.  The report notes cancer, but my cardiologist clarified: the speck was not impressive in the 2011 scan, it was not seen in the 2013 scan & is only slightly bigger now than it was 5 years ago; all of this not exactly characteristic of cancer.  My cardiologist referred me to a Northwestern pulmonary doctor for further review, etc.  Since Medicaid cannot get specialists for me, she also referred me to a NW vein specialist & a NW nephrologist.  Hope to find out next week if I can schedule appointments for all 3 on the same day, which would be most preferable for me, someone who does not like to go into Chicago.  The other specialist I need, an orthopedist, my cardiologist was not able to give me a referral, but 2 out of 3 is not bad, right!?

All of this makes me want to get back on the road (my home) & on the radio ASAP (hopefully tying both into OC,SH somehow), but I have no idea how to accomplish those goals.

Toys and cars at this point are not near as important as your health. I pray that you will soon be totally recovered and enjoying life's little pleasures.

May God bless you!  Wayne

Along with Alcapone Wayne,  i will pray for a healthy outcome to your health issues and i will pray that if you dont know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that you will seek His heart and find comfort in His arms. I give testimony to His goodness and mercy which i have personally witnessed in my life and people around me who have accepted His amazing grace into their lives, reach out to Him He is waiting to show you much more than any man can express in words. Stay POSITVE IN ALL THINGS  and dont dwell on what might be or is to come, make each day special for the people around you and yourself. My words are not something by chance but a divine calling for you to come to know my Father. Hebrews 13:5 Never will i forsake you or leave you.  Gods peace, and if i can be of any help please let me know. IKE IN MIAMI.

I had those very same metal toy cars as a kid in the early '60's. Wish I still had them!

Good luck with the cardiology routine! ;)

Too bad you don't still have 'em, Greg ... I was amazed to find I still had some of mine!

& thank you. :)

Ehhh, I don't know.  While I agree health is way more important, it is those toys & cars that are keeping me upbeat, so I'd say they're almost about the same. ;)  Thank you ... sure appreciate the prayers.

KEISER!!!!!  Oh my ... I love your drawings!  Any chance you'd be OK with me saving those pics & featuring them on Old Cars, Strong Hearts sometime in the future?  If not, no worries ... had to ask! ;)

I always try to do my best! :)

UNFORTUNATELY ... no news to report b/c no appointment time(s) have been finalized yet; funny how these issues are always so urgent, then scheduling tests-appointments is either a pain in the rear or agonizingly un-urgent, either of which only adds to the anxiety levels.  *rolls eyes*

Had some of those metal toy cars as well. Dinky I believe. In fact, my first collection was to get one of each casting of the early Lesley Matchbox cars but within a budget. Took me a long time, but I did it. Some 380+ pieces. Even built the cases for them. In the garage, with my other stuff that my family thinks is 'odd'.

I agree, sometimes just looking at them can raise my spirits.

All the best. Just had a dear friend beat breast cancer. Do what the doctors tell you and get a second opinion. Important to be comfortable with your doctor in these cases.

ScarredKnightfan....feel free to save and use any of my drawings.

Sweet, keiser!  How do you prefer I give you credit?  Whenever I feature pics, I generally add text like this: "(owned & photo by OC,SHer CORT S)" ... or something similar.

Richard, would LOVE to see pics of your Lesley Matchbox collection if you have any.  I absolutely LOVED those editions as a kid ... & wish I had more of the ones I had.  But I was a kid......  Those boxes were just being replaced about the time I got interested in toy cars.....

& thank you.  Luckily, I am comfortable with the doctors I currently have ... so that's a great starting point.  I've already looked into a 2nd opinion as well, so we shall see.

Finally ... is that your case, Nick?  I haven't seen 1 like that in YEARS!!!!!

First and foremost, Feel better soon Cort.  When I was a kid Space toys ruled. Hot wheels were something new, Match Box toys were everywhere. And Tonka was the king of every kid's sandbox construction site. :D Dandy Dave!

You can simply put my name (John S. Keiser) with them.

So noted ... thank you, John!  I've saved them for future feature!

Dandy Dave,

Thank you!

As for Tonka ... a friend of mine had 1 exactly like the 1 you pictured.  I have an orange dump truck, which now my Nephew plays with.  I also had 2 Blazers ... 1 green & 1 black. :)
