Charles Test
I want to reproduce some copies of the 1911 LA TIMES Lakeside Endurance Run. I have found an original 1911 trophy to reproduce. It is about 13" Tall x 9.5" Wide x 7/8" Deep cast. Cast in bronze. Can anyone recommend a good lost-wax reproduction casting company? Anyone interested in repros? These Makes were awarded trophies: Halliday, Reo, Overland, Apperson, White, Firestone-Columbus, Gilda, Autocar, EMF, Brush, Kissel Kar, Jackson, Hupmobile, Pullman, Oldsmobile, Halliday, Schacht, Flanders, Simplex, Lozier, Warren Thanks Charles Test Minneapolis # 14024
Friartuck
This is a beautiful piece. Agree lost wax is the only way to pick up (preserve) that detail. Here are several suggestions: http://wiki.vintagemachinery.org/FoundrySources.ashx The vintage machinery guys make more rough castings, but worth mentioning. I have not used either of these two, but they seem to cater to this type of casting: http://www.browncasting.com/ http://www.schalercasting.com/
Gary_Ash
I've used Brown Casting a year or so ago for some small parts in silicon bronze. They did quality work at a fair price and got the job done quickly.
nickelroadster
I would look for an art casting foundry that is used to casting for various artists. They would get the fine detail right.
