jvelde
I need the Fast Idle Arm Spring for a Carter 419-S Carburetor. Can anyone post a photo of this spring and how it attaches so I can make one. Also, if you can tell me gauge wire that I need, that would really help too. I know the Carter part number is 61-133, I just haven't found anyone with one to sell. danhar1960
G'day John. Sorry it took a while to get back but haven't been home for a bit. Is this the spring you're after ?? If you haven't dug one up locally, PM me your address and I'll post you one over. I have a few. Danny
jvelde
Hi Danny, Thanks for the reply. You are in the right area, the one at the other end of the Fast Idle Arm with the set screw adjustment is what I am looking for. I made one, but it's probably not correct. John V. P.S. Don't know why it insists on flipping photos over sideways! Edited April 26, 2016 by jvelde (see edit history)
danhar1960
G'day John Hope these are better. It is made from .55mm wire. The pics should show what you want. When pushing the throttle, that link bar goes up, the fast idle screw should be pushed away from the cam by the spring. When foot off the throttle, that bar goes down. The bar pulls the fast idle screw onto the cam overcoming the spring. I think that makes sense. Danny
