Guest crabboyjimmy
Just threw a rod through the block in my 66 skylark. It was the original 300 motor and 2 speed powerglide. I have an opportunity to pick up a 1968 430ci wildcat motor and tranny. Will the motors swap ok, or would I have to modify and fabricate to accomodate the new motor? Would I need to alter my suspension and rear end etc...? I've got a feeling that the new motor would make the car a lot of fun!
Owen_Dyneto
You'd probably be better posting this in one of the Buick-specific forums. There is one for "performance/modified".
Aaron65
The engine will swap, but the transmission will almost certainly require some driveshaft/crossmember/linkage modifications. I would think the rearend would be OK on street tires if you weren't always beating on it, but it's something to consider. I've never done this swap, so you might want to head over to V8Buick.com and do some reading. It's been done many times before.
