Wagner em-201 starter

Recommended Posts

I have a Wagner S-503 which is listed in the Parts Manual for a 1924 and 1925 Special Six and Big Six.

I also have a Remy 723A which is listed for a 1921 - 1925 Special Six and Big Six.

The Wagner EM-201 is shown fitting the 1919 - 1922 Special Six, Big Six and all the models from 1916 - 1918.

My guess is that either the S-503 or 723A starter will fit all Special Six models.

The S-503 is stuck, the two 723A I have run. I pulled the S-503 apart and it looks good inside, just the rear bushing is stuck. I'll take a few photos and send you a PM.

We are ready to help.

Do you know the model number of the starter you need?

There should be a tag on the firewall under the hood that will give us some info  your car.

There maybe a tag with a serial number on the frame behind the front wheel.

Is your starter missing or just broken?

Bob,

You should have a couple of starters that will work.  They are the ones mentioned in the second post.  I believe they are in a wooden box or a really heavy blue bin ;)

Great project Carlos!

Scott and Carlos

I have many starters and generators (dynamos)

Not only the ones that you brought but other from Studebaker parts inventories

I bought over the last 50 years.

My problem is that it takes a lot of time but I want to make a webpage with the many starters and generators I have.

I am old and slow and it will take awhile.
