Just bought another Chandler

Hello all. Last month, I was checking this forum and saw a post that a '28 Chandler was posted on EBay. The auction had ended, with no bids and was 2 months expired at that time. I saw that it was located within a half days drive of my home and proceeded to try to contact the seller to see if it was still for sale. Long story short... It was, I went to see it a few weeks ago and have decided to buy it. I currently have a 29 Model 85 in rough, original shape and in the midst of rebuilding her power plant. This 28 is the exact same car and is pretty close to "museum condition". She runs very, although has been sitting for quite some time. The current owner "drove it to lunch once", but that's about it. He acquired it from an estate sale flipper and all he knows about the car is that it came from south east Pennsylvania, possibly the Chester area. During my inspection of the car, I determined that it had been registered in Ontario, Canada in the early 90's and that the seats were redone by a Canadian firm. The car is painted red and has white detailing around the Windows. The chrome is excellent. She was in the Hershey car corral for sale within the past few years. I do not have the serial number yet, but the car is titled and I will have the number in a few weeks when I go to get it. Do any of you know background of this specific car? The interior is original and is in spectacular shape. She has led a very sheltered life for a very long time.

We're running up to get her on Sunday morning, the 28th, and hope to have all the mechanicals sorted out in time to do a wedding drive on March 12th.  Do you guys have any contacts as a source for door levers and window cranks?  These are mostly broken in this '28.  The ones in my '29 are still intact but do not appear to be interchangable.

Congratulations on your purchase!

When you mention it was in Ontario at one time, any chance it might have come from Windsor, Ontario, Canada?

When I was about 13 there was a Chandler of that vintage here I remember and at that time was a dark colour should I remember correctly. Something like a darkish green with black fenders but all original used condition (not restored). The gentleman's name was Charley Sparks and sadly I'm sure he is no longer with us. This goes back to the late 60's so it might have been repainted / restored by now.

Have not seen a Chandler around here since seeing one at the Greenfield Village Show several years ago.

When you get it home, post some pictures. What I remember they were a heavy looking car like the REO's with big tires but imagine ride like a Cadillac.
