Price reduced to 94,500.00 or very near offers.

1936 Auburn 852 Supercharged Phaeton. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a significant, supercharged Auburn that has just been removed from long term storage and being offered for sale for the first time in many years. The ownership can be traced back to a Mr. Frank Thomas of San Diego, California. Mr. Thomas owned the car until 1966 when it was sold to Solon L. Sprinchon of Jamestown, NY.  It is believe that Mr. Thomas was either the first or second owner of the Auburn. Sprinchon had a small, but high quality collection of cars. He kept the Auburn until his death and the car was sold to its last owner in 1999 who retained this vehicle until last year. After purchasing the extremely original Auburn in 1999, the former owner embarked on a complete restoration. When the restoration was completed, the car did the usual show circuits and acquired all of its AACA, CCCA and ACD awards. It was given its ACD Certification  (#A-420) as a Category #1 car in 2003. After doing the show circuit, it was put into stored until just last year.
Today, the car presents well and has a great look to it. The paint shows typical signs of oxidation, chipping, and general wear but still looks good and will clean up to look even better. The leather interior is nice but could benefit from a good cleaning and the tan top has the expected stains one would expect from being 15 years old. The engine bay and chassis were restored at the time of restoration but have not been detailed in many years. The chrome and bright work also needs a good cleaning. Mechanically, the car runs and drives with no apparent problems, but the car certainly needs a thorough mechanical servicing before any long distance trips are attempted.
What makes this car particularly appealing is the extensive documentation that accompanies it. Each of the three known owners saved every piece of paper and correspondence relating to this car. This includes notarized bill of sales, purchasing agreements, historical information, receipts, photos, awards, club plaques, etc. There is a  large pile of important paper work that accompanies the car that shows nearly every aspect of its life for the last 50 years. As expected, the car retains its original data/number tags.
This car is complete down to its tool kit and is one of very few, supercharged examples with the desirable rear mounted spare tire. The car is being offered at the realistic price of 97,500.00. A great opportunity to own a significant and documented ACD/Full Classic automobile. The car is currently located near Ft. Wayne, Indiana and is being sold with a clear title.
