53 chrysler windsor fluid drive transmission won't go in gear

Hey guys, took the 53 out today for a quick spin around the block. Got back home, parked it, and went back outside an hour later to put it in the garage and now it ONLY goes in reverse. I can't get any other gear to engage. If I let off the clutch and give it gas it feels as if the park break is on. If i continue press the accelerator a loud clunking sound comes from the rear-end....so I left is parked....Any ideas??

Thanks rusty, I read my service manual on adjusting the linkage. I have no idea where to start on fixing this so I will attempt to find a technician to take a look at it.... I do have another question, if the linkage is out of alignment how is possible for the car to be able to engage in reverse with no problem?
