cheezestaak2000
from the photos, looks more like a dealer installed heater, does it have vaccume tubes inside it??
Dave Henderson
It is a radio, ca. '35-'39 I'm guessing, and oem because of the Chevy badge. It is missing both the control cables that would be set-screwed into the 2 cylindrical stubs and the dial head that would fit into the dash. The speaker isn't shown. It would have been separate and was probably mounted in the headliner over the center of the windshield. Earlier radios had a dial head attachment to the steering column. Curti
I believe it is low line of the 1937 offering. I think there were three levels of radios offered that year. Chevy had the radio head mounted in the dash.
Hudsy Wudsy
Remember, Google is your friend. A "1937 Chevrolet radio" Google image search yielded various pictures of this radio and control heads: https://www.google.com/search?q=1937+chevrolet+radio&biw=1280&bih=609&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwit4rGnhOrKAhVCmYMKHRB0DTMQsAQIGw
Curti
I agree about Google. In this case it is difficult to discern the difference between a 37 and 38. And if it shows a picture of a radio box are you sure it is a 37 just because you Googled it?

I just thought that for someone who wasn't familiar with radios of this vintage, it would give an idea of what the head and cables looked like.
