wht89reatta
Hello, I am in serious need of a brake system overhaul. I.E. My pump is leaking very badly. I have a replacement pump assembly from a junkyard reatta but I am in need of a new accumulator. I found this one http://powerbrakeservice.net/bracforlimav.htmlI just need to know if this will fit on the reatta. If not is there somewhere I can find a proper fitting one? Barney Eaton
There is an excellent chance that it will fit. The main concern is the height (will it hit the cross brace) and are the threads the same.....the company selling them would probably supply you with that information. However, Spinningwheels.com (352-732-5013) has a unit that has been used by several Reatta owners and the price is around $

The accumulator that works with the vehicles listed in the link you posted will also work with my Chrysler TC and your Reatta. The Ford people have used our ATE manufactured GM OE accumulator and we have use theirs when ours haven't been available, the only difference being the original equipment ATE manufactured Ford OE accumulator has a slightly larger fluid capacity. If this part is the same ATE accumulator that was Ford OE, it will be slightly larger in circumference than the GM OE accumulator. The Ford accumulator is about the same size as the Hydac replacement sold by spinningwheels which is about $100 less and presently out of stock. DAVES89
What's leaking? If it is leaking past the filler cap you may have filled it incorrectly.

Ronnie
It is leaking out of the bottom of where the pump meets the housing. Are you filling the reservoir as described in these instructions. If not it will overflow after sitting for a while and appear t0 be leaking.Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling Instructions
Guest Kingsley
http://spinningwheels-sc.com/hydacaccumulatorballs.aspx I just spoke with Diane at Spinningwheels-sc and she said that she does have a small inventory of the Hydac accumulator at this time - they are having some computer problems at this moment and that is the reason why their website is sill showing "out of stock". Price remains at $155.00 plus shipping. KingdsleyReatta Specialty Parts

Guest Kingsley
and there are no fitment or clearance issues with these? The Hydac accumulator sold by the Spinningwheels folks and others is sllightly greater in height than the OE part, but just sllghtly. Easily taken care of by using some standard 5/16:ID flat washers - perhaps two or three,- under the cross brace that ties in to the strut mount point. In the past, Marck of East Coast Reatta Parts has made the same comment about the accumulator that he sells. Guest Kingsley
Diggger914 - some time ago I noted, on the Chrysler TC AACA forum, mention of the WABCO ST 2784 as being appropriate for the TC ABS system. Do you know of anyone who has actually used this accumulator on a TC? If so, could open up a possibility to help Reatta owners. KingsleyReatta Specialty Parts Carrying the WABCO STC 2784 matter further - there is a seller of this part on Ebay and he has been extremely helpful in giving me info on it. it has a volume of 20 cubic inches which coincides with the Hydac; however, initial measurements indicate that it may sit a bit higher than the Hydac which could be a problem in the Reatta but possibly workable in the TC. It does have the hex recess in the top. I am doing some more checking. Kingsley
Digger914
Kingsley, The Wabco has been has been reported and pictured as used by Ford, Lotus owners on their Teves II systems, and I have installed on a friends Jag, did recommend it to a TC owner when the Hydac wasn't available, never heard back on whether he used or not. Nipple length seating seems to be the reported issue and I don't remember which did which, but one user ground a taper in the bottom nut to get a good fit and the other group added a washer to overcome. Plenty of room in the 92 Jag so I didn't have to do either. On an entirely different note I watched the Motor Trend Reatta Utube that was posted a couple weeks ago and it appears we also share the same or very similar top power pull down mechanism and wondering if you guys use the same metal can, no longer available, GM power window / seat relay? Addressing only the first two paragraphs quoted above, I have been able to confirm that the height of the WABCO accumulator prevents it from being workable on the Reatta TEVES units. Barney Eaton
For comparison, below is a sketch of an original Teves accumulator with dimensions that I made 8 years ago.The threads are straight (not pipe) and the seal is via an "O" ring. bobwhite
I bought a accumulator on eBay that is made for the Jaguar. The add said NEW BRAKE ACCUMULATOR REATTA TROFEO Jaguar JLM1907 Delco 25528382 Saab 4002267. It looked like an exact fit, installed easily. I did remove a bracket blocking removal, but I remember doing that when I used the original part years ago. I checked and the is still on eBay. It works fine and came with the "e" ring.
waltmail
Sorry for posting this in 2 places. Hope I didn't break any rules. A few days ago Amazon sent me a list of old searches I made from them, including an accumulator I purchased from the about 4 years ago. I popped on the reorder button to see if anymore were available. Nope, but today I got another e mail from them which included 6 different style accumulators for other applications. If someone wants to take the time to research these options I will forward them the e mail listings. One I found quite interesting was an application for a Mitsubishi Montero ( $117.00).
