66 for sale, $2,500 or best offer.  Inoperable. Has severe rust issues, so probably best for parts car or for someone who doesn't mind big body-work jobs. Included but not pictured - 2 brand new courtesy light replacement lenses, a newer copy of owner's manual xlnt cond., original owner's manual poor cond., passenger side side-view mirror xlnt cond., service manual, chassis manual, brand new 66 cover from OPGI. I have too many pictures to post in this one post. There are many good things about this car - for example, headliner has a couple of smudges but no tears, but I bought the car sight unseen and the rust turned out to be more than the previous seller disclosed. OD reads 85263. My phone - (830) 899-2253 or (830) 609-7443. I cannot deliver.

I'm no expert but that car isn't a basket case

I have to sell it because I need to move & can't take it with me.  Plus I'm pressed for time because I need to probate my late wife's will & need the sale of my Riv to pay for the probate.  I'm willing to come way, way down in price.  I should have mentioned that my location is Canyon Lake, TX

Since it sounds like you need to move the car fairly quick, ebay would be a good option to reach as many people as possible. Try craigslist first if you haven't already. The extensive rust will in all probability make it a parts car but there is a lot of good parts there. The optional front seat headrest and passenger recliner option might attract someone. If the 425 runs that alone is worth decent money.

I have reason to think the engine is sound.  In fact, I might be wrong, but I think the gas tank is still good.  But the previous owner made a really screwy exhaust system install.

About Craigslist - everyone recommends it, but I've heard some bad things too, mostly about security issues.  Have you heard of anything like that?

Monty,

There millions upon millions of transactions done via craigslist per year. I forget what the actual number is but it is unimaginable. So while there is an occasional report of a bad experience they are few and far between. Just follow the rules and guidelines http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams and the tips for personal safety http://www.craigslist.org/about/safety

When selling, I always exchange a couple emails to make sure the person is genuinely interested, Then I'll provide my phone number and talk to them on phone. If they still seem genuine then I'll arrange for them to come and see the item. Stick to basic terms. Cash only, first come first serve, no holding for anyone till they get the money. Buyer brings money, they take item.

A common scam is sometimes you'll get an email asking if you still have the item with no specific questions or reference to what you actually have. The seller responds and they just got your email to spam you with trash so I never respond unless someone asks specific questions. Some people only list their phone number and won't accept email to avoid these.

You could try registering and posting in cars for sale over at V8Buick.com. They have a massive amount of forum traffic so you get a lot of exposure and its free of course.
