Pete Phillips
I need a photo, please of the Delco generator in a 1929 Chrysler model 65, if anyone here has one of those cars. My car is lacking its generator and I've not been able to find one after many months of looking, but a generator rebuilder that I contacted is nice enough to look for one or build one for me if I can send him a photo of a Delco model 943-H, which is what the Chrysler takes. Pete Phillips
If I can't get a photo, maybe someone can tell me if the generator has a fan on the front of it, or just a plain pulley?
Taylormade
My 32 Dodge DL has a 943S generator, which I would think is very similar. I'm pretty sure the set-up is the same on both engines with the generator pulley being turned by the fan belt.
keiser31
I believe these are Model 65s....pulley on the generator.... Edited January 2, 2016 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Narve N
Correct generator (943H), incorrect sticker from re-manufacturer (will be removed). Basically a lot of these generators look almost the same and barely anyone can tell the difference without the plaque telling them so. Be judged with confidence as long as the plate tells it is correct.
startergenrebuilder
The 943-H generator would not have a fan on it. That would be a non-ventilated generator. The first picture keiser31 posted has a non-correct generator on the engine. That generator is more modern with aluminum end housings and a fan. Taylormade! That generator looks familiar! -Jason
Taylormade
It should, Jason, you rebuilt it for me. It's going on the car this week.
Steve29
Pete, if you are still looking for a generator for your model 65 Jay Astheimer has been a good source of parts and information. His number is 610 462 3631.
