Can anyone identify this vehicle?

I came across this vehicle and thought it may be a Fiat.  Was told that the sides resemble the Fiat 600 but the front has a German/Audi feel to it.  Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

There is a reason it looks like a DKW. In the early years, the Japanese copied EVERYTHING!

They copied the DKW right down to the smokey 2 cycle motor.

Any idea of where this was copied from?

Under than thinly veiled disguise is an MGB.

That's what I thought until I looked up the facts. MGB had it's public unveiling in October 1962 at the London Motor show. Press got a advance look in September 62.

The Datsun sports car was also unveiled  in 1962, but it's unveiling was at the New York International show in April 1962.

I am neither and MG nor a Datsun expert.  I heard the story from my brother-in-law who had MGB's.  I do know that Austin and Datsun had a close relationship in the 60's.  Austin licensed Datsun to build and use the J-series engines from the MGA and MGB although I don't think they used the J-series engine in the 1600. Many of the Datsun engine parts are interchangeable with MGB's including the heads.

The Subaru 360 doesn't really look that much like a DKW; it is much smaller for starters - it weighs about half what the DKW does and its engine is less than half the size.  And it has its engine, which by the way was air-cooled where the DKW was water cooled, is at the back of the car.  Not a lot of copying there.
