Auburn 2016---Has the Blues!!

Recommended Posts

The Special Spring Meet May 5-7, 2016 in Auburn, Indiana will truly be special this year.  Friday night will include a two hour concert by a top notch Blues Brothers tribute band.  This group was the house band at The House of Blues in Chicago for many years.  This is going to be entertaining with several surprises for all in attendance.  IT IS FREE!  Plans are for an open bar as well courtesy of Auctions America.  More news later on this but we can promise you this will be a fun weekend and one you will remember for some time.

For those of you who had seen a post or two about this event I have deleted them as this forum will not engage in this type of debate.  We are having a party.  Pure and simple and alcohol is an issue for everyone to make a personal choice.  At almost all AACA National Meets alcohol is served so this is nothing new.  If you want to drink, drink if you don't then don't.  Very simple.  It again, is a personal choice.

As far as auctions serving alcohol that is their right as well an their patrons will address the issue if they feel it is not acceptable.  WE are not going to tell them how to conduct their business nor assume that they are doing anything morally wrong.

Any inference of ethics or morality over this issue is not a topic for this forum or thread to debate.  If someone has a problem with this policy they are welcome to contact our President or me directly.

Dale and I certainly plan to "Be in that Number" !!

Well, It looks like this will be another great time in Auburn. We've made the most recent couple of years, and look forward to this one as well. We even made our motel reservations before leaving last year.

The Auction is a great venue,

the flea market gets better each time,

... and the field of judged vehicles for the AACA MEET continues to shine !

Slight possibility I might be there as a spectator only, but not sure yet ... & may not know until the day before.  I'd only be there Saturday, tho.

Show was great as was the concert last night . Steve M and crew did a wonderful job. Weather was great yesterday and not bad today. We experienced a shower about noon but it didn't last long and before you knew it the sun was back out. I think I heard there were about 260 cars. And, the BBQ dinner after the show was also wonderful.

I have attached a link to some pictures that I took on Saturday at the show.  As has been mentioned it rained for about fifteen minutes right at noon, so some cars were covered for protection.

I hope you enjoy the limited number of photos that I took.

Here are photo albums of pictures that I took at a few events I attended in 2015 as well as the ACD Museum that I visited last Thursday.

Glad everyone had a good time.  Very few no shows and a very good field of vehicles.  Thanks to all who gave me a hand during the event.  The Bluz Brothers did a great job and it seemed everyone had a ball at the concert.  Also seems a few of you can away with some automobilia and even a car or two or three!

Only sad not was I did not get to buy the Olds miniature stationary engine I wanted.  It went for triple the price of all the other engines!  Needed to bring a fatter wallet.  I did buy a great working differential training model for the library collection.  Excited about that find.

Send any suggestions along for next year.

I wish I could have been there this year but will make next year with a brass car. Had a great time showing my HPOF original Motorhome last year that would have come in handy this year in the rain.
