lump
It's the last significant swap meet of the year in this area. I will be there all weekend, located indoors. Lots of stuff to sell or trade. Need parts for my 1923 Hupmobile and my 1970 SS 454 Chevelle. What do you have? NOTE: This 2-day event is Friday and Saturday, NOT Sunday. See you there. tomcarnut
I always make the Spring event but am moving my daughter this weekend. Seeing that you are in the area, you should consider coming to our Southern Ohio Chapter AACA events. We tour monthly from April to October, sometimes in March and November too. We have social activities the colder months. Our members and events with the Chapter are in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. We also host and participate in weekend Ohio Region events four times a year. One of our members has a 30 Hupp. Our members have cars from every decade in the last century which can be a help on earlier cars. Feel free to PM me, Tom Muth
lump
Tom, I will certainly PM you, after we get past this weekend. I grew up as a member of AACA and the Southern Ohio Chapter. I have dash plaques from events I attended as early as 1958, in the back seat of my parents' old cars. My family and I were very active for years, but faded away in the 1980's or '90's. I guess I ended up joining too many clubs, from too many hobbies, and burned myself out. But maybe someday we will return. Many old memories there for us. Thanks! lump
That strong, bitter-cold wind today kept me indoors most of the time. But I did snap a couple of photos. One of the first vendors to arrive this morning was selling Model T parts, including a very clean 1921 Ford roadster. It was totally free of any paint, covered in surface rust. But I didn't see a single rust-through hole anywhere. Seemed to be very complete...even the top saddles were there. I THINK the asking price was $6,500. By the middle of the day, it was SOLD, and being loaded onto a trailer.
lump
In spite of the weather, there were about 60 cars in the car corral area today. That seemed pretty good for a Friday. Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow...they say the wind will die down by tomorrow morning. I took this pic of a couple Cushman cycles offered for sale. And, is that the "Family Huckster Wagon" from Chevy Chase movie called, FAMILY VACATION?
lump
When I closed up my vendor booth at the end of the day, I drove out through the car corral area. Shoppers were gone by then, so I got a clean view of this one aisle. But the sinking sun was in my face, so the photo isn't very good. I'll try to take more photos to share tomorrow. junkyardjeff
I did not attend any of the Springfield swapmeets this year,I needed some parts that I knew were in the junkyards so I went there instead.
Terry Bond
Wow, that T looks great. Just the kind of patina you'd love to perserve. Love a good swap meet and I always take pics of stuff laying on the tables or stacked in the display cases. I enjoy looking at them later to see what I missed. Just looked at some 5 year old Hershey photos and saw a bunch of stuff I shoulda bought! Prices went up, imagine that. How bout when you guys snap pics at swap meets, include some of the stuff piled up on or under the tables so those of us who can't make it can dream about next year. lump
Hey, just realized I had not replied with more photos as promised. Let me add a few now, for your enjoyment. These are all from Nov 13th & 14th, 2015, Springfield, Ohio I will add some more photos, after I get them resized and uploaded to Pbucket. Or maybe I should just start a new thread? Your thoughts?
