From what year?  '65's are different because of the longer shifter throw.

OK Ed: I believe it's  65. Short chrome piece with the cig lighter and....the ribbed rear heat vents.  Mitch

The side vents are not ribbed.  I "think" this is a 63-64 piece. Any other ways to determine?

'63 Has a circular cutout in the 64-65 ashtray area and is set up for through bolts not captive clips for screws.  Pretty sure it's a 64 or 65, no idea how to tell that difference.

I'll take some pictures of a 63/64 and a 65 side by side and post them so you can see the differences.  As stated, the rear piece that goes over the back and holds the cigar lighter has different dimensions.  I've got a one of each, I'll post pictures of them as well.

I have the '64 and '65 consoles here are home but the '63 is at a friends shop.  He's going to try to make it work in a different car he has.  If he hasn't "chopped it up" yet, I'll try to get it first and compare all three side by side.

Another way to tell a 65 console is the location of the rear ash tray.  It sits further back than in 63 and 64 and the ash tray lid actually goes over the rear edge of the console,  Looking at the picture, it is a 65 console and assuming the lighter is original, the knob is a 65 as well as they differ from 63 and 64.

Better late than never.  I finally was able to pick up the '63 console.  Here are pictures of the '63, '64, and '65, in that order from left to right.  The '63 is unique where the ash tray goes but is the same from the shifter back.  The '64 and '65 are the same are the same where the ash tray / a/c controls go, but is different from the shifter back - longer for the gear selector.  (the '64 has the diddy box still in the console so it might look a little different but structurally it's not.)
