Removing Packard Drums?

I have a 1936 packard Super 8,<BR>I'm trying to remove the rear drums.<BR>Can anyone tell me a ease way to pop them off?<BR>

The drums are on a tapered axle with a key and should be, by design, very tight. The only way to remove them is with a very heavy duty puller. Snap On makes oan excellent one, or your local auto supply store might have one. Be prepared to spend some $$$.<BR>Perhaps you have a friend or know a shop owner that you could borrow one from. Be aware that heating it will not help it off. The axle is steel and the hub is iron, so if you heat it the axle will expand at a greater rate and actually get tighter.
