47 Super C
Looking for information on the proper gauge metal to sue to make patch panels with. I measure some non-rusted areas on my 47 Super and it seems like .040 or 18 Ga, but I have also talked with a local restoration shop who always goes with 19 Ga. I need to make floor patches and some exterior sheetmetal as well. Areas like rockers I may go heavier. Thoughts ?
NC-car-guy
My last truck I used 18ga and a friend's roller to put some beads in it so it would be stiffer (very large areas to patch). If you are doing whole floors you might want to order pre made patch panels though, the extra cost is usually worth it.

JZRIV
Always a good idea to match the new metal gauge to the existing. Eliminates a variable to worry about when welding. Especially if butt welding panels.
