Normal fuse around those years was 30 amp. And the generator's 3rd brush was normally set to 20 amps on the ammeter on a cold generator and a low battery (6.0 volts no load). Generator must be cold. They get hot pretty fast. Any short usually blew the 30 amp fuse pretty quick. Been there, done that. This will be in the ball park.

Hey speaking of ballparks, ain't those Toronto Bluejays great!!!! Won the A L EAST Pennant last night! On their way to the World Series for the 1st time in 22 years.

Thank you . I put a 20 amp in then blew it and 30 . So started chasing down grounds in system, horn was one ,head light sw  high res ., and overload with the present seal beam headlights on it. Apparently it worked before because they parrelled two thirty amp fuses so could handle lites and all grounds . My manual made mention of max. 12 amp charge should  show on gage when cut-out closes . Though maybe should have 15 a. fuse . When I get all fixed I do reading and either use 20 or 30 a. fuse .

Good luck . with Bluejays , our Phillies suck this year . Although was doing some rooting for Cubs , Maddon there new manager a home town guy , And a good guy at that . Loved for his community service here.
