Is there any reason you want a 1979, instead of

a 1977 or 1978?  The one disadvantage to the

1979 Lincolns is that their only available engine

was the 400 cubic inch.

 

The 400 engine in the Lincoln was only for

fuel economy, and wasn't best suited to such large cars.

Old Cars Price Guide observed, "Most 400-equipped

Continentals put in about 100,000 hard-stressed miles

and die, while more than a few 460's have logged

200,000-300,000 miles and are still going strong."

They should be easy to find in Hemmings, or especially

on the various internet sites that list cars for sale.

Mark V's are almost as common as Toyota Camries!

I agree, Mr. Lux Driver.  I have a Mark V

myself, and I think they can't be beat.

Besides, there's too much focus on

purported "rarity" these days!
