John_S_in_Penna
Is there any reason you want a 1979, instead ofa 1977 or 1978? The one disadvantage to the1979 Lincolns is that their only available enginewas the 400 cubic inch. The 400 engine in the Lincoln was only forfuel economy, and wasn't best suited to such large cars.Old Cars Price Guide observed, "Most 400-equippedContinentals put in about 100,000 hard-stressed milesand die, while more than a few 460's have logged200,000-300,000 miles and are still going strong." John_S_in_Penna
They should be easy to find in Hemmings, or especiallyon the various internet sites that list cars for sale.Mark V's are almost as common as Toyota Camries! John_S_in_Penna
I agree, Mr. Lux Driver. I have a Mark Vmyself, and I think they can't be beat.Besides, there's too much focus onpurported "rarity" these days!
