Tom M
For my 1931 Packard I order mine from this company http://www.quietride.com/Very happy with it. Did not require any mods to install it. It fit very well. It has some extra holes in not and sure what they are forbut they are hidden high up on the pad. They do have some REOhttp://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?userwatch~categorystring~cadefjdx~1142 Edited September 3, 2015 by Packin31 (see edit history)
jpage
The old pads were made from a jute backing about 1 in. thick and cemented to a cardboard cover. To try to stay authentic, I would get a piece of the felt padding sold by several suppliers large enough to cover the area doubled up as it's only about 1/2 in. thick. Glue the 2 pieces together and then glue that to your firewall cover pad. Restoration Specialties in PA sells both the padding ( called jute padding) and the colored cowlboard that is used to make the front cover. Use your old one, if it exists, to make a pattern. Sometimes there was a sealing strip of some type of fabric sewn along the bottom edge that rides on the toeboard. Good luck! R.S. number is 814-467-9842 open 9 am- 5pm EST. Also their catalog is accessible on the web.
