I have been out of touch for some time and am now trying to work on mt 1990 Reatta. At some website interconnected with Reatta owners there was a link to access and download a very comprehensive manual that covered the Reatta and Riviera. I have some of the pages I downloaded several years ago and, for example, the brakes were covered in Section 5, the body rear end in Section 10, etc. Can anyone PLEASE tell me where to access this again.

Thank you!

I did get some information from the site mentioned by some other members but I still can't locate the tonneau release relay on my 1990.

Thanks!

Ok. That is one manual for sale, and certainly no bargain. Dave has several of different years fo sale yet and these can routinely be found on ebay for far less than $135.

GM was stupid (yeah, that's never happened before) in pulling the license to host a free copy of the manual online. They aren't going to profit from this move in any substantive way as there are plenty of used hard copies floating around for sale and new ones from Helm aren't that costly either. Those sold new by Helm can't possibly make GM any real money, so I don't see the point other than to act like rectal cavities. But, big companies do stuff like this and it is to be expected that goodwill means nothing to them. Copyright law gives them the legal right to do this of course. Meanwhile, we are free to reply "you guys suck" or something to that effect. Judging by the channel stuffed overflow inventory I see parked all over town that won't fit on dealer lots, a lot of people are saying that. Cultivating a poor public image does have it's consequences, and the nature of paybacks can be likened to a female canine in heat. And yes, petty as it may seem, people hold grudges.

So, buy a used copy at the lowest price you can find so you have the full manual at your disposal at all times and tell the general to pound sand if it suits you. Simple enough. And really, if you can't afford the book then it's unlikely you can afford to maintain the car either. The Reatta is complex enough and now old enough that repairs (and even parts) can get very costly. If you'll drop a few hundred on parts to keep it on the road, then you can shoulder the cost of a FSM. Belaboring the point is compaining just for it's own sake.

Do as Kevin says and buy a good used manual at the lowest price you can but if you want a new service manual they are available in the Reatta Store.
