1962 Cadillac Fleetwood valuation

I need help valuing a 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood for sale. Body appears to be in good shape. I know that it's not running, but I don't know the condition of internals. I'll provide more information this afternoon. Can anyone estimate its potential value?

Not enough pics or info to tell us.. EBay shows U sold numbers..try that. Then first we have to know what you have..in ,n out..to help you. Mileage, air ,original paint n interior??

$4560. Maybe more if it runs and the inside isn't trashed.

I would second the 4,000-5,000 If the paint and chrome are pretty good especially if it's pretty much rust free and has a pretty good interior. (not needing paint chrome or interior to any degree)   The drivetrains are pretty bullet proof but some of the accessories are troublesome. Figure you will spend atleast a couple grand probably getting it roadworthy if it's been off the road for a long time in brakes, tires,  cooling system etc.  Give us a few extra photos interior and underhood especially to let us give you a better valuation.

Those photos are marked 2008. A lot of unpleasant things can happen to a car in 7 years. What is its current condition?

I think you're right on, Dan!  The detailed

pictures on Craig's List show plenty of small

rust spots that aren't visible in the overall

photos.

Let's just say that the $8000 asking price will scares away a lot of potential buyers. Why do sellers do something foolish like this ? Wayne

Many years ago, I had the opportunity to buy a car almost exactly like this one, in the same condition for $200. The reason it wasn't running was because it had been over heated and the motor was locked up. I passed it by.

Seat upholstery appears to have been re-done incorrectly.  That would be a very expensive item to replicate in an authentic manner.  

 

I recently sold this one on Ebay for $8,700 -- a running, driving car that, while far from perfect, seems to be in substantially better condition than the craigslist car.

If one like yours is available in that price range why would one even consider another for less money that needs anything to be up to the condition yours was in unless it was pretty much a gift.  The interior chrome on a cadillac this vintage would cost you over 8,000 to plate.
