my31buick
Did anyone see the 31 buick 96s rumble seat for sale in the bugle? It read :31 Buick 96s rumble seat coupe, T4he BIG ONE, " California Special". Wire wheels, Side mounts with rare metal covers, metal trunk, wind wings, cigar lighter, 67,335 miles, rust free, los altos Ca. $18,500. This car looks beautiful. Not sure if restored or if engine has been rebuilt. What is a fair price for this car and is it that rare? I have far more than this in my 31-57. Comments Please? jscheib
Don't have time for much detail, but you are concerned about value difference, the '31 90 series is A certified CCCA Classic while the 50 series, sedan or coupe or roaster, is not. bubba
It was sold weeks ago. That was a very good buy if nothing was very wrong with it.
Buickborn
That appears to me to have been an outstanding deal, considering that last summer I paid $18k for an unrestored (but very nice, with a fairly fresh engine) '30 44-series roadster. However, the Bugle ad in question mentions nothing about the car's cosmetic condition; and, at about 67000 miles, the car is probably ready for some major engine work. Still, we don't often see a complete, open-bodied, full Classic advertised for dollars in the teens.

In my rush to find that Bugle ad mentioned here, I misread it, thinking that it was a non-photo listing for a roadster rather than a coupe -- when in fact a pic of the car appears right above the copy. Oh, well, at least I don't have to be dying with envy of a guy I thought got a 90 series roadster for about what I paid for my non-classic 40 series R/S roadster. my31buick
so is this car sold? I still have not got a return call?
bubba
I spoke to him last week. The car was sold and he couldn't get it out of the Bugle in time. I'm sure he's getting tired of his phone ringing. It was advertised on the net . It's almost impossible to get a good buy on a car today unless the car is overpriced at the start. The last car I bought at a nice opening price was only due to the owner not having a computer.
