1924 model 44 roadster for sale, West Virginia

I know something about these 1924 roadsters, having owned and mostly restored one over several years. They are very rare, with only four currently registered in the Buick Club. This one is not in the club, but I knew of its existence, having corresponded with the owner back when I was restoring mine. So in addition to the one I used to own (which is not in the club now), there are six known in existence. Period. That's all there are.

It is a model 44, the smaller of the six-cylinder cars for 1924. This is the first year for four-wheel brakes,so they are very driveable cars. Due to the soft top and extensive wood in the body, few have survived. This one is currently at $13,500 and I can tell you that you cannot bring one to the condition this one is in for anything near that price. I will try to attach the ebay link, but I'm no expert with this new system.

P.S.: This is not mine.

Looks like an excellent car for some hobbyist,

especially if the price stays close to where it is.

This thread has elicited no response so far.

Sadly, cars of this vintage don't attract a lot of

attention!  Your friend should consider listing it

on the website of the Horseless Carriage Club

of America.

I was very interested in this car when it was on the market a couple of years ago at a higher price. But unfortunately the owner wasn,t interested in selling overseas. Would still love to have the car, but no money at the moment.

With the auction ending today, there are only

3 bids, and the price has inched forward to $13.700.

This shows how interest has declined for cars

of this vintage.

But low prices can be good!  Affordability may help

to reignite interest in these early cars;  and meanwhile,

a dedicated collector can have an interesting car

that no one else will have even at Buick shows!
