1939 Opel

Which creates another interesting dialog. If the BCA were to include Opel, would it be only the years

that had Opel imported be Buick dealers? I believe GM actually owned Opel when this car was built, but no Opel was sold by US dealerships. Any comments?

Interesting question - we all know where I stand on the Opel being accepted within the BCA ranks - it should have been done LONG ago.  The membership benefits over the years could have been very helpful to the bleeding off of the BCA membership.  At this point it may be to late to gain the Opel groups cooperation or interest in joining since they have been blatantly ignored and downright shunned for so many years.

There is no question that all Opels in the years of Buick involvement should be included.  Having go along brands with a parent brand at a national meet is nothing new - Opel would make a very interesting Division for the BCA.  I would think the number of Opels in attendance prior to their actual Buick connection would be minimal and could go a long way in good relations with the Opel community.  It may be different if Opel had no GM ties until Buick started selling them.
