Sleeve valve engine rebuild

You might try contacting the Willys Overland Knight Registry. They can probably direct you to the right person. If you own a Willy-Knight you really should be a member. Also, there is a fellow named Paul Calman, who I believe once worked for Art Aseltine, who says he has rebuilt sleeve-valve engines. I met him at a swap meet a year or two back and cannot tell you whether he is any good or not. Try WOKR.COM first.

I recall many an evening sitting in Dave Bell's garage while dad and Dave swapping around parts to fix problems - and we would go to other peoples homes and so the same - to some degree pretty forgiving engines.(President of WOKR for eons).  His Stearns went a couple hundred thousand miles of this process.

Thank you Mike, I am really good at taking mechanical things apart but will most likely need a shop that can do repair or fabrication work to renew the internals such as junk rings or babbitt. When you did your engines did you find anything out of the ordinary?
