I have a 1947 Chrysler Windsor that suddenly will not idle.  Runs great at speeds above idle.  Come to a stop sign and dies. Starts up with no problem as long as enoug trottle is applied.  I have taken the carb apart and cleaned and blew out all orfficies. I am assuming that I have a idle jet problem but do not know how to indentify it.  Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Larry

Not when you come to a stop, but when you first start the car, will it run at idle initially, and then only kill after a rolling stop?

If this is the case then your problem is probably not the "IDLE JET".

Check to see that when you reassembled the carb, that the "stop" for the "IDLE SCREW" is installed properly. I've seen these inverted and become useless.
