1955 Austin Healey 100 For Sale.

Recommended Posts

This is the car I posted on here a while back while doing transmission work on it. Since the forum change, Supposed Upgrade maybe???  I cannot find the post that it was in? Asking $45,000. It is a 1955 BN1 Big 4. I repaired the transmission and it is up and running at this time. I have a lot of photos. It is not a 400 point trophy winner, Those are in the $75,000. to $80,000 range. It is a good runner driver. Anyone wants to see it and drive it, PM me or call. 518-325-7610. Ask for Dave. We will make arrangements. Be patient. I do not sit by the phone all day waiting for it to ring. Lots of work going on here and no time to sit and wait. I'll get back to you when I am back at the ranch. More on this car later.. Remember, The farmers I also fix tractors for feed you three times a day. They need their tractors and equipment up and running immediately to keep everyone fed. Dandy Dave!

The car is an older Restoration. So I was told, The engine was rebuilt shortly before the transmission failed. It runs very good and does not smoke. A shop that previously worked on the car told the owner that they thought the clutch was the problem. That was not the case. Intermediate gear as well as the laygear and shaft was damaged. I can attest that this part of the car has been put back together correctly with new Syncros, shafts, bearings, laygear and intermediate gear and it shifts like a dream as I did this work myself. All the mechanicals work as they should including the electric overdrive which I went though myself also. This is the older system with two relays. Cosmetically, It does have some dings and some road rash on the paint and some of the trim. We still have some Dirt roads around here. It is tough to keep things pristinely clean in these conditions. The frame also has several spots that could use attention although main rails are structurally sound. One spot is above where the exhaust passes underneath which is the outboard part of the car. The other is on the opposite side of the car under the drivers compartment also outboard. Also some under the front cross member where someone though the years was not kind about jacking it up. This is the worst part of this car. Everything is up hill from there. See photos. Also the top is older and has several holes. Side windows are included as well as the books. Oh, Did I mention there is room to Dicker. The owner is in his eighties and is downsizing. This, and other old vehicles in his collection will need to go. Dandy Dave!

Guest Bob Call

Perfect AH 100, rusty frame and all.  Love the flex tubing exhaust header in lieu of rubber mounts for the muffler and tailpipe. The Lucas horns on 100's have to be sexist sounding of any ever installed on a motorcar.

Yeah Bob. Not half bad for a North East Car. Most from here are rotted from the center of the doors down. ;) They kept this one out of the salt for the most part. Bless them guys in Southern Cal with the no rust weather they have. The mirrors on the front fenders are also marked Lucas. Dandy Dave!
