History of Duesenberg

Does anybody know were I can find out the history of the Duesenberg?

For a concise history try the Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942. There are many other references available that should be easy to locate.

Probably the best book on the Duesenberg is by Fred Roe, called Duesenberg, The Pursuit of Perfection. It was published by Dalton,Watson. Unfortunately, it is out of print, but is available through book dealers. One that comes to mind is<BR>honestbob@prodigy.net. His company is <BR>Automobilia International.

Another excellent book on Duesenbergs is:<BR>Duesenberg - The Mightiest American Motor Car<BR>by J. E. Elbert. It was published by Dan R.<BR>Post Publications in Arcadia, CA. My copy<BR>is the Collector's Edition - 1964. I don't know where you could get a copy.

Automobile Quarterly devoted an entire issue to Duesenberg a couple of years ago, and this combined with the Roe and Elbert books should give you a good history. The Elbert book has been reprinted and may be available through Classic Motorbooks or ordered at a book store. You might also contact the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana, they not only have a research center, but also a gift shop that sells books.
