1938 RC 1/2t Cab Interior Removal Project

Ok Folks,

So since the previous photo thread on the removal of the engine on the RC, http://forums.aaca.org/topic/256737-1938-rc-12t-engine-removal-project/ , was so popular, here is one on the removal of inside cabin items.

Who knew Budd stamped the doors for Dodge? That was news to me....

Enjoy the truck candy! I certainly did removing it......!

Who knew batting material was riveted to the top roof rib?

Or who knew the door piping was riveted to the inside door cab frame?

:)

The rubber door jamb bumpers are available new but the tapered retainer nuts are not but they are easily made. Those conical lock washers are called countersunk lockwashers and are readily available. The trim washers and screws are available from Restoration Specialties in PA.

So I am probably re-hashing an old subject, so forgive me....I did do a search prior to posting and could not find anything.

So what was the purpose of the small tag just above the VIN tag on the fire wall?

I see some of the numbers match the build card....but not all.

Any ideas???

Thanks Dave,

Found a donor regulator unit on Flee-Bay, Vic and I are going to cobble together our parts and create two good units.

Thanks for the tip on the oval tag....wish we had a way to decipher it.

Looking good. Were going to do our 34 Dodge tow truck in a couple of years.

Can you take a good picture of your spare tire mount and tell how long the tube that holds the tire? You have been a great help.

Thanks you

Dave

No problem, I'll get that for you this weekend....
