raleets
Barney, Many thanks for this info. I suspected my red/tan was the most popular, but not by THAT much!
Barney Eaton
I know we see a lot of Red/Tan cars but you are correct and I never realized it was that high. Run the numbers and 25% of 1989 production was that color combination.
KDirk
Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to me (anecdotally) that I see many 89's in that color combo for sale. Even the 88's it seems I see more white/burgundy and black/tan even blue/blue around than red/tan.So, where are all the red and tans hiding out these days? Given the number made it seems like we should see a lot more of them around.KDirk
Guest my3buicks
being that the Red/Tan was the most used color for advertising and commercials directly leads to it being the most popular color - that is the case for almost every car made, the color that a car is introduced and advertised is often the most popular color. raleets
Even the little plastic 1/24 scale promo Reatta was red/tan, as well as the full-color '88 brochure.
KDirk
Keith,No disputing that. I just wonder where they all are. Right now on my local craigslist there are two red/tan 88's, a red/tan 90, one red/grey (90), a silver/grey 90, a white over blue 90 'vert, A black/tan 88, a white 90 (no interior color listed and no pics of the inside) and an 89 blue/blue. In actuality that is the most red/tan cars and for sale here in recent memory. That also represents the largest number for sale I've seen on CL here in at least a year.I seem to see many more white, a few black and then some silver and blue ones generally that I do red ones. I realize this is entirely anecdotal evidence and is onle a small slice of the market in a medium-large city. I just think it unusual that with so many red/tans made all four years that they don't show up more frequently in the wild, relative to other color combinations. Anyone else notice this?KDirk
Guest my3buicks
I have seen a lot of silver recently advertised also, Ebay has 2 red conv, 2 red coupes, the Polo green coupe, a white and a black one.
Guest PontiacDude210
I see a lot of red/tan here in the Muskegon, MI area. The next biggest color locally seems to be White/Blue, I've seen probably 4 Whites and 5 reds for sale this month, and 2 whites in a pick a part yard. wws944
At the Portland BCA Nationals last year, of the 15 or so Reattas, at least 10 were white/red (either garnet or flame.) There was only one or two red/tan cars. Also almost all of the cars were convertibles. Only a few coupes.
