ScarredKnightfan
*Sometimes, others have a unique perspective. For this crash test image, I asked: VW or coupe? But, Ben queried if it might be the 1st Google street view attempt!http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/28/thursday-survey-19/ & instead of a pink Cadillac, a pink Plymouth wagon:http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/2015/05/27/automotive-daily-129/ Cort www.oldcarsstronghearts.com1979 & 1989 Caprice Classics | pigValve, paceMaker, cowValve"How could I be so blind?" __ Charly McClain __ 'Who's Cheating Who'
Hudsy Wudsy
I had a friend that operated a tow service full time for a couple of communities who said that beetles often faired really well in many accidents because their narrow tires allowed them to easily slide in the direction of impact (although that was not always a good thing). ScarredKnightfan
Heh .. that's interesting, HW. Don't think I've ever heard of that before, but ... it makes sense. padgett
Had to be careful back in the day because an XK Jag exceeding the ton could blow a VW going the other way on a TLB right off the road. (XKEs were better, not as much of a bow wave). I'd take the coupe: AC was an option. Was why back then I usually had to special order new cars, not many dealers stocked 4-speeds with posi and AC. ScarredKnightfan
...& back then, special order MEANT special order. You could literally order any combination of things you wanted. Nowadays, not so much.....
