Jim65Riv
I'm going to order a set of seat upholstery from Clarks for my 65 with standard interior. The seats are currently covered by the factory installed upholstery - 50 years old last month. My question is: should I order the seat buns also? Any suggestions from someone who did and someone who didn't. Thanks.
Seafoam65
I would stay with the original foam if at all possible. If the foam is just a littledamaged you can fix that with a little extra padding. The repro foams don't compress like theoriginals because the foam has a different structure than original and with new foams you feellike you are sitting on the seat instead of in the seat. Seats with repro foams cause you to situp too high in the car, and they aren't as comfortable as original GM foams.

Seafoam65
That sounds like a good idea, as repro seat foams are a pet peeve of mine!

Lapham3
Hi Jim-Some years ago I had Precision Upholstery make Stratobucket covers for my Seafoam '66 Cat. They did a nice job and added some padding. They were in south Mpls at that time, but moved up your direction a while back. Your experience may vary with the different buns as ours (carseat buns now of course)are quite a bit different.
