Dave Mellor NJ
Some of the other cars are a Rambler. a 53-54 Plymouth, 57-58 Ford station wagon and about a 53 Mercury or Ford. CarlLaFong
I feel so old.I always thought the 55/56/57 Chevys were so recognizable, so ubiquitous, that anyone, anywhere would know one in the dark. In 10 years will people post pix of VW bugs and wonder, "What kind of car is this?"

Dave Mellor NJ
I think that's a 53 Mercury through the Chevy window. You can see the top of the bumper curving around.
keiser31
I think that's a 53 Mercury through the Chevy window. You can see the top of the bumper curving around. That bumper is definitely not a Mercury bumper on the car in question. Check out the over riders on the 1952 Ford....no dagmars. Dave Mellor NJ
If it's a Ford it's a 53. On a 52 you would see the round parking light.
keiser31
Yep....1953. You are correct. I always get those 1952-54s mixed up.
Hudsy Wudsy
Something about the '56 Chev amuses me a little...I've gotten so used to seeing restored ones that I'd forgotten that the "real", in use Chevs of the period very often had front bumpers that were bent upwards, just like this one. 28 Chrysler
I had both 1956 Chevy and a 53 Ford at the same time in the 70's.Luckily mine were not used in a wedding, I was only about 18 years old.
Hudsy Wudsy
Also, do any of remember how you could hear '55-'57 Chevs coming by the rattling sound of their rear spring clamps?

A bent upwards bumper is the least of this guys problems.
