60FlatTop Posted May 27, 2015 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Buy a kit and do it yourself. 4GC's are pretty friendly to work on. About the only concern I can think of is the check ball in the bottom of the accelerator well. Don't drop it out and if the carb has been sitting dry you might need to reseat it. That's just a matter of tapping it with a cup ended punch or similar dull tool. The nice thing about 4GC's, WCFB's, and AFB's is that one can see all the components and their relationship and learn a lot from just doing them.Bernie Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It will give you an idea of what is involved and whether you will be comfortable taking on the task.
