motoringicons
SOLD:This 1955 Buick 76R Roadmaster Two Door Hardtop Coupe was recently restored. The restoration was just finished and included a rebuilt engine, new interior, new paint, new chrome, electrical, tires, brakes, etc. etc. The car has been driven about 300 miles since being restored, so it is still fresh and still has that new car smell! The fit and finnish on the body is excellent with nice gaps and margins throughout. The body lines are crisp and clear. The Cascade Blue and Artic white paint job is excellent and looks great, although could probably benefit from a final rub and polish. The interior is excellent including the seats, door panels, headliner, polished top bows, dash board, steering wheel, controls, etc. The glass is excellent and all of the window trim and seals are new as well. Mechanically, the car drives effortlessly at highway speeds. The engine starts easily, idles well, and propels the car down the road with lots of gusto and power. The chassis rides nice and tight. The steering and brakes still feel like new as well. Since this car has so few miles, the engine bay is still clean and very tidy. The Coker white wall tires are new and fresh. All of the gauges and lights work, the doors and trunk lock with their keys, the Sonomatic radio plays, etc. This is a highly optioned car with power steering, power brakes, power seat, power windows, windshield washer, power antenna and air conditioning. There are a few little things that did not get finished during the restoration. The air conditioning fan works, but the A/C needs to be hooked up and charged, the power antenna does not work, and the clock does not work. Overall, this is a great looking and desirable Buick that is being offered at far less than the restoration cost. The price is 34,000.00 and the car is located near Jefferson, WI. Matt Harwood
That seems like a heck of a lot of car for not a lot of cash to me. I sold a 1954 Special 2-door sedan for close to that amount and this is a much more desirable car. AND factory A/C? Nice!
