Hello Group, I am now ready to pull the front clip off the '38 RC.

What order of removal would work, i.e. hood, front quarter panels, inner panels, front grill, etc...

The goal is to remove the engine and transmission at the same time.

Thanks in advance!

Take pictures and or video during tear down.

Spray all your bolts with a mix of 50% acetone and 50% trans fluid

Have a propane torch for heating the tuff bolts

Have an assortment tray to keep all your bolts separated.

Remove the hood

Disconnect the wiring and mark the with number stickies

Bumper

Put a thick piece of cardboard between radiator and fan to protect the radiator

Remove the Grill shell support rods from the top of grill shell to the cowl

Remove the 2 mounting bolts under the truck for the grill support framing (LAST)

Remove the bolts from the fenders to the grill shell

Have 2 people lift the grill, radiator assembly.-Its heavy!

So you made no mention of removing the front fenders, so I am assuming then, that the engine and transmission will come out without removing the front fenders, is that correct?

Or in other words, all I need to do is remove the hood, and front radiator/grill assembly?

You can remove the engine once the trans is removed. I thought you

wanted to restore this truck. Only have to remove the hood if just pulling engine. You would have to remove trans, clutch and bell housing before removing

engine and water pump for more room.
