Guest papete
My starter button under the dash seems to be shorting out and nothing happens or a short click and then nothing. I disconnected it at the relay and then pressed the button on the relay and it started. How to I get at the push button under on the dash to replace it. Thanks
19tom40
All the starter button does is supply a ground to the pick circuit of the solenoid. Try grounding the center terminal of the starter solenoid, you starter should turn over the engine. If that does not work, you will have to replace the solenoid. If it works, check under the instrument panel to make sure that the wire is attached to the starter button. The starter button should have one or two flat springs holding in place. Compress the springs from the back of the instrument panel and push the switch out.
abelincoln
The Ford push button looks about the same if you need a new one. Also check the wire between the solonoid and the pb.Abe
