wex65
Trying to get the firewall in paint in the next week but have a question. The thing has a LOT of holes but to be honest the mostly look factory.Cant find a resource to check what should and should not be there but the only hole that looks like it was eaten through the metal by a beaver is circled. I shot some primer over it to make the holes stand out.Can anyone confirm whether this is 'surplus'?Thanks,
ThunderVette
I thought the same thing when I had my '56 at that stage. From glancing at your photo, it appears to be good. I used reference photos from the CTCI restoration manual and process of elimination of the items that get attached. I only came up with two holes that didn't belong. In my car's previous life it had an alarm system on it. Good luckI will look on mine for the hole you referenced.

My guess is that the butchered hole was an electric temp gauge someone had fitted to the car.
