No I bought Dave Browns Buick he has posted under 40 Ford on this forum and I believe you helped him out last summer or fall. The car I chased for 12 years is still sitting there gathering patina and the owner is too cantankerous to sell. This car was the second best option. I t shows the side of the engine with all the sheet metal on. To accomplishes this I took the cap and wires off my 22 parts car then the side cover for the plugs went on fine. I installed the fresh points and I am begining to run the car out further from home each time I try. I need to gain a level of confidence. The car is pretty much original but worn. My House has been on again off again the market for 7 years..during that time I thin the herd, then add to the herd sort of keeping in mind that one day the house will sell. Well last week the house sold I negotiated a 3 month stay of execution for emptying my garage. tblack Posted May 23, 2015 Author Share Posted May 23, 2015 Dandy Dave....yes the hole in the mainold is correct for 21....my other 21 has the exact size and shape hole...My 22 engines have a smaller drilled hole there. That part on the exhaust manifold is an under passage that allows heated air into the carb on choke or the hot setting. when the car warms up you dont bring any air through that under passage. Maybe they decreased the hole size for extremely cold weather operation. On my 21 Roadster years ago I put on a new top. The said "bring it in today" I drove the car 20 miles in 6F weather to the top shop. Engine ran fine with the bigger hole. Going South...probably to Clifton Park Ny closer to the grandkids. Sick of the winter well this morning we have a frost...but I'll bet at your elevation you did as well. Dave Brown(ford40) Well I did/am enjoying it til it is sold. Running quite well with the new points. Longest ride to date about 15 miles and it runs well and cool. I added a motometer to your old cap. Well I looked at ebay and if it continues I might break even and someone will enjoy a nice car....Looks like moving allows me to take my 1931 Chevy and My 21 Buick Roadster...still have to sell my restored 40 pontiac sedan and of course I will have to pare down the "tons" of parts. tblack Posted May 26, 2015 Author Share Posted May 26, 2015 Dave...ebay is an ugly experience...with 2 hrs to go a person with 0 history and feedback from India bid...I scrambled and knocked them out. On auction sniper a person from the Netherlands bid and I cancelled them out. I specified no international bidders because of time constraint. If you want it for $7500 come on up and I will send you home with an extra engine, trans and rearend...The car now has the side iron clamps, motometer, new points and I fixed the waterjacket it runs well....if not it goes to my daughter for reluctant storage. We are headed to Clifton Park NY to live on some cul-de-sac, which I will use as my personal antique car race track. As you can see by my signiture the herd is thinned (maybe the rebuilt pontiac could go).
