Hi,

I recently bought a 1930 Lincoln Victoria Coupe. The transporter damaged the top insert. Can someone tell me the what the original factory material was and if there is source for it now. Thank you.

Steve

I don't know what Lincoln used but you might look at the Colonial (long or short grain) roof topping sold by Restoration Supply. It (the long grain version) was an exact match for the OEM material on my 1934 Packard.

I have been speaking with Eric Haartz of the Haartz Corporation. He said the material is seldom used today but is trying to get me a sample. In the meantime, I need to find someone in Southern California who can do a very high quality job of replacement of the top insert. If anyone has had a good experience with a trimmer who can do such work, I would like to hear from you. Thank you.

HarryJ,

Thank you for you suggestion but I have joined the club and they have been very helpful in many areas but not with this particular subject, at least not so far. I am looking for information on the exact original material used and any leads to someone who can do a very high quality replacement job who is in the Southern California area.
