AACA Local Servers Down? PROPER CONTACT FOR CORRECTION!

Recommended Posts

I have made this a "Stickee", so that everyone will know the proper contact info for issues like these.

Thanks,

Wayne

PS: Let me also say that the viewing public can still view AACA Web Sites. This was just a "Webmaster Access" problem.

UPDATE: I have been in contact with the Higher Info Group tech support folks - it looks like they have made some change that interfere with using the FileZilla FTP program, which I have used for the web site many years. They recommend using the WinSCP FTP program (a free FTP program available from CNET.com while they work out a solution for FileZilla.

I downloaded WinSCP from CNET.com (recommended site for getting any shareware - they test and certifty everything). WinSCP was easy to set up - it copied over all my account data from FileZilla and made contact with no issues. They have not solved the FileZilla issue, but WinSCP works fine.

UPDATE (Monday 1/19/2015): Just got off the phone with Higher Info Group - they changed a setting in the FTP access while trying to solve the FileZilla issue (not fixed yet) that 'broke' connections for WinSCP. The fix is easy - open the WinSCP logon window for your web site. Click on the ADVANCED button. The Advanced Site Settings window will come up. Select 'Connection' from the list on the left, and then DESELECT 'Passive Mode'. Select OK, and close WinSCP. Reopen WinSCP and you should be able to accecss your site.

UPDATE FOR FILEZILLA USERS (Tuesday 1/20/2015): I was able to solve the FileZilla FTP issue by going into Site Manager for the web site, selecting the 'Transfer Settings' tab, and then selecting 'Active' instead of 'Default;' I was able to log on immediately
