Bought this car almost restored last year, have completed everything that was needed to finish, at that time engine would barely turn, its now seized solid, have removed both barrells & pistons, first question, I have domed New EGGE pistons, the split in skirt on both pistons is on the downward side,.surely they should be opposite?.

Next, Connecting rods , Front flywheel & front main bearing with cover all removed, still stuck, the gear selector is pulled right back, & if I grip the tail shaft I can rotate the drums inside the gearbox.

when I push the selector forward I can select the middle drum, but it refuses to go fully forward & i can feel spring resistance, Is this something to do with my engine being stuck, not familiar with this type of box, does it need stripping, the whole car has been restored to the highest standards & I can tell that whoever did the work was very careful, HELP,
