Parting out 1946 Chrysler royal

Recommended Posts

Hey Joe,

I may be a player on the clock delete plate.

Its the one on the right.

If it has no pits and will clean up etc, How much?

Kinda looks pitted in your pic.

Its the one on the right just above the ashtray.

I will take a look at it and let you know.

Thanks, Joe

jack,

Give me a few days (probably the weekend) to get the clock delete plate out of the dash.

I took a quick look today and it looks like it will clean up.

I'll let you know ASAP and I will post pics, too.

Joe

There is a small spring that pushes the glove box door open when you push the button.

I have three broken springs so they must have been problematic.

I fashioned one from a piece that I found in drawer at the hardware store but I don't like it very much.

If anybody has a source for one of these I would like to know about it.

I had to heat the hinge so I could bend one side out of the way to work on it so I doubt these ever got fixed. But the box needs to be pulled open rather than popping open by itself. Call me anal.

I have used the finger nail trick for the past 35 years on my chryslers. It was a hassle fixing a customers car as I remembered.

I have it kind of working but the spring I found is just not right. Yes, I can see the fingernail method may have to do.

Hi, does your car still have the small "Royal' script on either side of the cowl? If so could you send me a picture please as I'm missing one on my 42. Not sure if they'll be the same. Also in need of wiper arms, would you measure and let me know, I think mine should be 9.5-10 inches long. I'm sure there are a few more miscellaneous bits but that's all I can think of right now.

Many thanks

Saul

Bruce,

I will take a look but give me a few days. I have most of the stuff packed away and will need to go thru some boxes.

Thanks,

Joe

I need what i believe are called the shoulder rivets that attached the hood of the car to the hinges.  Do you have them.  my email is drsjahner@gmail.com

I also need one of the chrome strips on the front drivers side

Any good grill parts? I need right and left top whiskers and the middle and lower center horizontal bars. Possibly the 2 harmonica sections but mine aren't terrible. Thanx

Sorry but the grill parts on the car were in really bad shape.

If you need anything else I still have a lot of parts.

Thanks for asking.

If you still have parts from your royal I am now in need of the inner heater flap that connects to one of the levers under the dash. Obviously not the cowl lever. My metal is ok but the rubber seal is shot. Is this part good in yours and how's much with shipping to 33009? It comes out with 4 screws and 1 cotter pin. Please let me know. Thanx much.

Hi Steelbreeze,

Do you have a picture of what you are looking for?

Thanks, Joe

Keep an eye on eBay. I just bought one at a very reasonable price. It cleaned up to look almost new. On another note in reference to parting out the Royal, do you have the pair of cowl mounted mirrors? I also need the small clip the hides the seam on the outer stainless steel window trim?

I do not have the cowl mirrors or the stainless piece.

Sorry.
