Guest
I work at a body shop where we've undertaken the restoration of a 1930 Buick coupe with rumble seat (thats my best guess on mod.and make). Does anyone know how the interior door handel and window crank come off?
D Binger
There should be a horseshoe shaped clip that should pull off the door or window handles next to the door panels. A pair of needle nose pliers that are bent would help. I have used a welding rod with a hook bent in the end. There should be a spring in there also. (don't let it fly away) The handles are made of potmetal, so be careful with them.
Dan
[This message has been edited by D Binger (edited 02-15-2000).]
Guest
If the handles don't have the clips that you're used to dealing with- check to see if they are pinned on. Push the escutcheon between the handle and the door panel back towards the door panel and look to see if there is a pin driven through the shaft. A small pick or a punch should pop it out.
Pay attention to the sequence the springs and washers install in!
