IMPORTANT NOTE, the 1953 to 1959 or 1960 corvettes also had grill bars, 13 bars were used in the grill of 1953-1955 corvette grills. do the bars have part numbers ? charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor. Guest Doreen
. Another door skin....all I know is it's a Chrysler from a tag that was on the packaging BO4 and the #56 was hand written on a tag, not sure it that means anything. I tried looking up the part# and couldn't really find anythingthe sad part is there is damage on top part of the skin
Kimo
Here is a link to a Motorola Model 45 car radio for sale by another person. You will see that yours is missing the control unit that would mount into the dash. You should rumage about your cache of material and see if you can find something that looks like the control head to have a complete unit. The price for the one on this link seems a bit on the high side to me, but in any event your radio should be of interest some someone who is restoring a late 1930s auto.http://www.tgrantphoto.com/sales/index.php/products/motorola-model-45-radio-1937-vintage-car-radio
Guest Doreen
Thanks Kimo I did see that...thank you for the little history lesson on the radio. I'm just amazed that the tubes are still in tact after all this time. Maybe I will find the rest of it. auburnseeker
Number 1 the radiator grille bar may have a number on the back of it if it's Die cast chrome. That number would probably also be the part number as it's an early enough looking part. If it's stainless there won't be a number. The Chevy grille teeth probably all have the part number cast in the back as well. If you post those we can tell you their location in the grille. PONTIAC1953
that 1940 buick makes a better looking pick up truck than the 1949 to 1955 1st series chevy trucks, and the late 1940's hudson pick up car that i used to see running around venice, calif back in the 1970's. charles coker, 1953 pontiac tech advisor. The number on the tank may just be the tank number. It didn't come up in a quick search. By the sequence I would have to say it's a 1955 or 1956 Model especially since the tag said it was serviced in 1956. It might have been on a new car then. It might more recognizable if photographed from a few more angles. It could be worth something for someone with a rusted out rear trunk panel.
