Be Aware!!! The NC Region Websites are not accessible. It seems the new Server Support Service (High Info?) is still moving AACA Web Sites. Surprise! I thought they were done moving. I was in contact with their HELP DESK. The reason we have no access is they started last night and ran into a problem. The problems they had was they did not have the Website User and Password information to complete the moves. Sees like the moves should be better coordinated and not started until they check with Web Masters and schedule testing after. I will try to work with them to resolve this for NC Region and keep everyone informed.

Likewise, our website was inaccessible on the morning of 05/07/14. As instructed, back in March of 2014, I worked with Higher Information Group (HIG) to move our website from Peter Gariepy's server to the AACA server. Upon "completion", all worked well. So what happened? I also was told yesterday by HIG that I hadn't made the move yet! Upon going through the process again with them, the website was up and running this morning... but with a version from months ago! Hopefully someone at AACA can get the full, real story of what happened, and post it for us here.

Same here with Oneida Lake Region, olraaca.org. Put in GoDaddy transfer on April 7th, but learned yesterday that HIG did not accept transfer, so it expired in 10 days on 4/18. I didn't realize that they didn't accept and thought it was transferred, but I should have double checked. Web site stopped working a few days ago. After noticing I still owned domain last week, sent an email to HIG asking status. No reply, then site went down 5/7. Initiated transfer of domain ownership again this week, and HIG accepted. However, the website transfer restored the site to the state it was a few months ago, so lost all the recent changes in April, along with all email since Feb 2014. Of course all the modifications lost were the ones to comply with the recent evaluation criteria letter sent 4/1 :(

The site, with old restore, has been up and down the last 24-48 hours, so waiting to make any changes for now. Surprised that the content from last week is no longer available. We have our annual show on 6/1 , so hopefully will be stable in next week.

Posting as a heads up to wait before making any major changes.

After working all day with the HIG helpdesk representative, we were able to get my website up and running again, loaded with my latest website version stored on my computer. Allowing him to temporarily take remote control of my home computer was the only way we reasonably worked through all the trial and error action that it took. I'd recommend that for others with similar issues. Hopefully, HIG representatives learn from each of these trial and error corrective sessions, so that similar, necessary corrective action on other AACA Region websites will go more smoothly and rapidly. Good luck to everyone!

Folks, we are sorry but this move became gigantically complicated based on issues we do not know at the time. We had some sites on a members personal server and when moving we did not have the access codes to get the latest version. The computer staff are working non-stop to resolve all of these. Like me, we all expect to turn on our computer and it works. We do not want excuses. AACA does not want excuses and neither does our IT company. We are dealing with multiple technologies, old software, etc so this has become a bear. We are well aware of the pain and trying our best to fix. The club has a HUGE investment in our new servers and we do want things to be state of the art.

HIG was able to reslove my original problem with the NC Region Web site quickly two weeks ago. However there are 15 sites in the NC Region and this week the Old Salem site is not working (http://www.ncregionaaca.com/oldsalem/Who%20We%20Are/who%20we%20are.html0. HIG indicates the site may not have been moved. However there are many pictures (.jpg) and docuuments (PDF) that are now missing. The problem may be that the documents have not been moved or permisisons have not been set correctly. It is also possible the documents are no longer available on Peter's server. It is difficult to know which sites have been migrated and which are still waiting to be moved. The HIG Help Desk is responsive and indicates they will move the site to fix it. They opened a ticket for me.

I will post updates.
